Brian Kelly is in favor of (better) execution. Or something like that.
LSU’s head man saw the Tigers become the first SEC team to lose a game this season. LSU just barely couldn’t get it done Sunday evening, missing a game-tying extra point with zero seconds on the clock to lose to Florida State, 24-23.
Kelly talked on executing the gameplan Tuesday afternoon.
“Execution is playing with great confidence and trusting your teaching,” Kelly said, via Cody Worsham. “Sometimes, in the moment, you lose that trust and go back to things you’ve done before. To get better execution, we have to coach our guys better, and they have to trust that.”
The Tigers looked abysmal on offense at times Sunday night. Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels looked capable at points, throwing for 2 touchdowns and 209 yards passing. Still, LSU fans are going to want more from him moving forward.
Kayshon Boutte did not look solid at any point Sunday. The 1st Team All-SEC receiver caught just 2 passes for 20 yards with a few pretty eye-opening drops littered throughout the game.
The Tigers can get back on track next week against Southern.
