Brian Kelly has a lot of respect for Alabama’s football program, and it showed on Monday via the Paul Finebaum Show.
Kelly praised Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees for the job that’s been done in year one. Rees joined the Crimson Tide this offseason after being with Notre Dame.
Alabama is playing some of its best football coming into the LSU game in Kelly’s eyes. Kelly said that Rees has done a good job of utilizing personnel and developing Jalen Milroe.
“He’s smart, he’s utilizing his personnel, he’s developing the quarterback, which he’s great at doing and you can see this offense finding themselves over the past 5 or 6 weeks and they’re playing probably the best football coming into this weekend.” Kelly said.

The Crimson Tide have done well against LSU historically, but the Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa after winning last year’s matchup.
A ballsy two-point conversion in overtime ended up being the difference in Baton Rouge a year ago. The win over Alabama helped LSU secure a spot in the SEC Championship against Georgia.
There have been some great games in this rivalry. Another chapter will be written at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
LSU has not won consecutive games in the series since 2010-2011.
