Ahead of LSU’s matchup with Army on Saturday, Brian Kelly provided an injury update on a few key players.

Kelly said that Emery Jones and Mekhi Wingo are doubtful for Saturday’s game. Jones, an offensive lineman, is dealing with an ankle injury suffered against Auburn on Saturday. Wingo, a defensive tackle, is dealing with a lower body injury.

Kelly believes resting Wingo on Saturday will give him a chance to regain full health before the back stretch of the season.

“Mekhi Wingo has been nursing a lower body injury all year,” Kelly said in his press conference Monday. “This gives us a chance to really get him right going into the bye week and then the rest of the season.”

While the Tigers will be without 2 key plays, they could have wide receiver Chris Hilton back in action. Hilton missed last week’s game against Auburn, but Kelly said he is probably for this week.

LSU should be able to handle Army with ease, and the the Tigers get their bye week. The next 2 weeks will be a good chance for LSU to get its team ready for the last few games of the season.
