Brian Kelly and LSU have a big challenge ahead of them against Alabama.
The Tide are seemingly hitting their stride after a big win over Tennessee, and it’s coming at the perfect time ahead of a huge game against LSU.
On Monday, Kelly joined the Paul Finebaum Show to discuss the upcoming matchup against Alabama, breaking down what the Tide have done well this season.
“We start with the obvious, right, just a well-coached football team in all 3 phases,” Kelly said. “I think the quarterback in Milroe is much more comfortable within the offensive structure. He’s clearly now at a point where he’s going to take shots down the field, he has an offensive menu in front of him that he likes and feels comfortable. Coach Rees has done a great job of laying out: Here are the things we’re going to do and we’re going to be good at them. I think that that’s where they are.”
Defensively, Kelly believes Alabama is the toughest opponent they will face this season.
“And then defensively, this is probably the best defense that we’ll see in our time,” Kelly said. “Talent-wise, A&M rivals them, but I think defensively, the structure and what Coach Steele does is outstanding, so we know what’s in front of us. This is an outstanding football team, Coach Saban certainly has this team playing very, very well and it’ll be a great football game in Tuscaloosa.”
LSU will get more than a week to prepare for Alabama as the Tigers get their bye week this weekend, but Alabama also has a bye week this weekend and will spend it sharpening things up ahead of the big matchup.
