Brian Kelly seems to be enjoying press conferences these days, and on Monday, he brought his own $10 “fine” because he was a little bit late.

“There’s my $10,” he said. “Let’s get that out of the way right away. I pay my debts. I’ll take a money order from The Advocate. I don’t take a check, because it might bounce.”

Of course this was in reference to an earlier back-and-forth he had with beat reporter Leah Vann of The Advocate, who last week was a few minutes late. Kelly suggested that she put $10 in the “kitty” for a year-end bash.

Vann replied that she would be on time if LSU had beaten Florida State on Sunday night

On Monday, Vann replied again and said her check would not bounce, to which Kelly suggested it was a business expense and that’s why he referenced The Advocate.

On the field, LSU meets Mississippi State this week in a 6 p.m. local time game in Tiger Stadium.
