Brian Kelly previews Texas A&M, says Week 13 bout is ‘their bowl game’

Texas A&M has been one of the most surprising teams in college football this season. And not in a good way.

The Aggies were an AP Preseason top 10 team with a strong roster and what was at the time believed to be a strong coaching staff that was built for a great season in the SEC West.

Things have changed. The Aggies are now 4-7 and 1-6 in the SEC with just 1 game remaining against LSU. Tigers head coach Brian Kelly previewed his opponent Tuesday, stating that Week 13 is like a bowl game for the Aggies since they were eliminated from eligibility with a loss 2 weeks ago against Auburn.

“Well they’re a bowl game. Obviously they’re not going to a bowl game so this is their bowl game certainly, it’s a rivalry game and one where they’re a talented football team,” Kelly said. “They’re looking to put it together and build off this so they can go into the offseason on a positive note.”

LSU, thanks in part to Tennessee’s loss to South Carolina, is back to having a shot at the College Football Playoff field, though the path there is not easy. Even with 2 losses, LSU should crack the field if it can beat Texas A&M and down Georgia in the SEC Championship game.

Let’s see if the Tigers have it in them.
