The LSU Tigers almost turned bad to worse during their unexpected slog with Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Head coach Brian Kelly lost starting center Braelin Moore and tight end Trey’Dez Green to injuries in the 23-7 victory.

Fortunately, there’s a chance both men return without missing more action. On Monday, Kelly told reporters that Moore is “day-to-day” as he deals with his rumored high ankle sprain. Kelly added that Moore is currently questionable for Saturday’s game versus Florida, but “could be probably by week’s end.”

Green’s status, though, is much more up in the air. According to Kelly, the sophomore tight end has an MCL sprain and is questionable for the Gators matchup. He is not expected to be out long-term, even if he misses this weekend’s game.

Moore, a redshirt junior, is in his first season with the Tigers after transferring from Virginia Tech. He reportedly did not allow a single pressure against Clemson’s vaunted defensive line in Week 1. His presence will be critical for Garrett Nussmeier against a Florida team eager to right the ship following last week’s disappointing loss to now No. 18 South Florida.

Green, who stands 6-foot-7, 244 lbs., recorded 13 receptions for 101 yards and 4 touchdowns as Mason Taylor’s backup in 2024. He’s a tremendous athlete, evidenced by him also playing for the Tigers’ basketball team in 2024. With Taylor moving on to the NFL, Green has apparently decided to solely focus on football. He scored LSU’s game-winning points in the Clemson contest.

Kickoff between Florida and LSU is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday. You can watch the game on ABC.
