Brian Kelly says win over Alabama in 2022 ‘feels like ancient history’

Brian Kelly told reporters at Wednesday’s SEC teleconference that the 2022 Tigers win over Alabama feels like ancient history.
A lot has changed since then, for sure. The Tide and Tigers both started the 2023 season slow with losses to Texas and Florida State. But Alabama rebounded soundly while LSU took another loss to Ole Miss.
Kelly said that the difference between LSU and Alabama is consistency. Sure, the Tigers won that game a year ago, but they haven’t taken a jump just because of that win.
“It seems like ancient history,” Kelly said. “It helps with the recruiting process. But for us to get into the ranks of Georgia and Alabama you’ve got to be able to do these things consistently. We haven’t been consistent yet.”
In just a few weeks, the Tigers will get another shot at the Crimson Tide. LSU is currently on a bye after dismantling Army last week.
Let’s see if they can remain consistent against the Tide.
