LSU (5-2, 3-1) will have a major showdown on Saturday when they host No. 7 Ole Miss (7-0, 3-0). In order for LSU to pull off the upset, they’ll have to keep pace with the explosive Ole Miss offense.
On Monday, LSU coach Brian Kelly shared injury updates for wide receiver Jack Bech and running back Armoni Goodwin.
Bech didn’t play in the second half of LSU’s 45-35 victory at Florida due to what was later described as a back strain by Kelly. Meanwhile, Goodwin has been out with a hamstring injury since sustaining it during the Sept. 24 game vs. New Mexico.
“Jack [Bech] is day to day. Got the same back situation, which is an L5. It’s cranky,” Kelly said via On3. “Hopefully, we get him up and going. He’s a tough guy. Hopefully, we can get him loose enough where he can play. And Armoni [Goodwin], we’ll practice him on Tuesday and see what we can get. He wants to play. Our doctors have cleared him. We’ll see what kind of volume we can get out of him, and hopefully it goes well during the week.”
Bech has 10 receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown this season. Goodwin has rushed for 199 yards and five touchdowns.
Ole Miss is coming off a 48-34 home victory vs. Auburn. LSU leads the all-time series 61-41-4 against Ole Miss. Ole Miss won last season’s meeting 31-17 in Oxford.
