Brian Kelly has helped Jayden Daniels turn into a Heisman-caliber quarterback during his 2 seasons at LSU.
The Arizona State transfer has turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and has a good chance of taking home the Heisman trophy this year.
For Kelly, Daniels’ success, and the success of Joe Burrow a few years ago, can be used as a recruiting pitch for quarterbacks looking to achieve the same goal.
“It opens up just the fact that player development and the ability to compete for the Heisman Trophy exists at LSU, because it’s not only right now, but it happened a few years ago with another LSU quarterback,” Kelly said in his press conference Monday. “Now you’re starting to build, not an accident, but a trend here at LSU. That obviously speaks to recruiting and the ability to recruit elite quarterbacks to LSU.”
The Tigers have the No. 6 recruiting class for 2024 according to 247Sports composite, including 4-star quarterback Rickie Collins. LSU is looking to continue its trend of standout quarterbacks moving forward.
