LSU’s primary goals for the 2023 season are out of the picture, but Brian Kelly thinks there is plenty to motivate his team moving forward.
Saturday’s loss to Alabama was the Tigers’ third defeat of 2023, ending their College Football Playoff hopes. With conference losses to both Alabama and Ole Miss, LSU is also out of the SEC West race.
Brian Kelly appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” Monday to discuss how LSU can bounce back and finish strong. The Tigers finish out the regular season against Florida, Georgia State and Texas A&M.
“This month of November is really about what are you interested in doing? How do you want to grow as a football team?” Kelly said. “Look, we do the right things week in, week out, we can win 10 games again for the second consecutive season. That, to me, is consistency in building a program.
“So that’s all in front of us. Yes, we want to play for an SEC Championship – that is the ultimate goal – and get to the playoffs. But this football team has a chance to continue to grow and continue to move itself toward being a good program, to being a much better one.”
LSU will host a Florida team still fighting for bowl eligibility. The Tigers have dominated the rivalry with the Gators, winning 10 of the last 13 meetings, including 4 in a row.
