Former Alabama star running back Brian Robinson Jr. was finally able to make his NFL debut on Sunday after being being shot as the victim of a carjacking incident back in August. The timetable on Robinson’s return was initially variable, and he came back on the soonest date in which he was able to do so.

Robinson received a standing ovation from the crowd upon taking the field.

“That was one of those remarkable feelings,” Robinson said in a report from John Keim of ESPN.com. “I can’t even really explain it. . . . I feel good, man. It’s just being back out on the field. I mean, the ups and downs, but today everything finally came into the light. I’m just so blessed to be back out there with all the fans, the team, everybody involved.”

The 3rd-round 2022 NFL Draft pick carried the ball 9 times for 22 yards in the debut on a day where the Washington Commanders leaned a lot more into the pass as they fell just short to the Tennessee Titans in the 21-17 loss.

The Commanders face the Chicago Bears up next on the schedule in a 7:15 p.m. Eastern time road contest on Thursday night. We’ll see how much work the former Alabama star gets in that game.
