Britain Covey sets Twitter ablaze with jokes after big start to Rose Bowl
By Keith Farner
Published:
Britain Covey has already had a sensational Rose Bowl against Ohio State, and the Utah junior still has a big chunk of the game remaining, including the second half.
Covey was a part of the Utes’ 2014 recruiting class, but took 2 years off for mission work, so he’s a much older junior than normal. That only fueled more comedic fire by college football fans and media. Middle-aged menace, and grand daddy of them all got the jokes going, but they were far from alone.
Covey opened the scoring with a 19-yard touchdown catch, and then his 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown got fans going.
Once Covey hit the kickoff return, the jokes poured in on social media.

Britain Covey’s playing career is as long as Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan coaching career.
This is a serious tweet. They faced off in the 2015 opener.
