Brock Bowers found himself named as a 1st-team All-American, the 3rd straight year he’s earned that honor. Despite an ankle sprain that held him out for a few games, the Georgia tight end currently sits at 56 catches for 714 yards and 6 touchdowns for the season, continuing to show that he is the best in the country at his position.

Three 1st-team All-American selections in a career is rare in Georgia football history. Outside of Bowers, only 2 other players have done it: David Pollack and Herschel Walker.

Pollack, one of the program’s greatest-ever pass rushers, was an All-American pick from 2002-2004 while receiving 3 All-SEC 1st-team nods. Walker, who posted rushing totals of 1,616, 1,891, and 1,752, received 1st-team All-American plaudits from 1980-1982 and was the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner.

Bowers, even without his All-American selections, has already established himself as an all-time player for the program regardless of position. He hasn’t decided on his 2024 plans yet, but all signs point to one last go-around at the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 before what should be a terrific NFL career.
