Brock Bowers has been one of the few bright spots for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024. The former Georgia Bulldog has been one of the team’s most reliable pass-catchers, even as a rookie.

On Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, the rookie broke an NFL record by catching 13 passes. That’s the most receptions by a rookie TE in a single game in NFL history.

Unfortunately, Bowers’ big day didn’t lead to a win for the Raiders. The team lost to the Miami Dolphins 34-19 and fell to 2-8 on the season.

The rookie TE now has 70 catches for 706 yards and 3 TDs on the season. Bowers leads all rookie pass-catchers in receiving yards, being the first to cross the 700-yard mark this season.

The Raiders had high expectations for Bowers after drafting the former Georgia star with the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Bowers leads the Raiders in catches, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.

Bowers had a legendary career in Athens, catching 175 passes for 2,538 yards and 26 TDs in 40 games played. The TE won 2 National Championships at Georgia, was a 3-time First-Team All-SEC player, and won the John Mackey Award twice (given to the nation’s top TE). Bowers has the 3rd-most catches in Georgia history, behind only Terrence Edwards and Brice Hunter.

After a record-breaking performance on Sunday, Bowers and the Raiders will prepare for their next matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 12.
