Brock Bowers is already in the Heisman Trophy conversation, but the Georgia tight end showed off his speed once again to open the scoring for the Bulldogs.

Bowers scored Georgia’s first touchdown of the season with an end-around carry from 3 yards out after he earlier caught a 23-yard pass on the 2nd drive of the game. Georgia scored after a 10-play drive that covered 76 yards and 4:39.

Bowers has impressed since he got to Athens as coaches have been impressed with his work ethic and motivation since he was recruited out of California.

Bowers is coming off of a season where he caught 63 passes for 942 yards and 7 touchdowns. After just 2+ seasons in Athens, he’s already up to 21 touchdowns in his career.

Bowers is expected to have another big season, and has already been named to a variety of award watch lists, including the Biletnikoff, Paul Hornung, Maxwell and Lombardi. He was also named to the Preseason Media Days All-SEC First Team, and selected to AP Preseason All-America First Team, and The Sporting News Preseason All-America First Team.
