Kirby Smart provided an update on star tight end Brock Bowers as he continues to recover from ankle surgery.
Bowers has been out since the Oct. 14 game against Vanderbilt. He underwent TightRope surgery following the injury.
Smart said that Bowers has been great in his recovery, but did not provide a return date for the junior. He did say that Bowers has been able to use his ankle more in recent days.
“He’s been great, he’s done everything we’ve asked,” Smart said in his press conference Monday. “He ran on Friday, did a good workout, had Saturday off and continues to work. Going to do all he can to try to get back as fast as he can.”
Before his injury, Bowers recorded 567 yards and 4 touchdowns. While it’s not clear if Bowers will be back soon, Georgia is hoping the standout can return to play before the postseason.
Georgia has a huge matchup this weekend against Ole Miss. The Rebels are coming off a narrow win over Texas A&M and is looking for a big upset over the Bulldogs.
