Tough break for Ricardo Louis this week as the Cleveland Browns receiver’s season has come to an end before it even had a chance to begin.

According to his head coach, Hugh Jackson, Louis has undergone surgery for a neck injury which will force him to miss the upcoming season. The injury to the former Auburn receiver is believed to have originally occurred last season.

Probably happened during the season, yes. Probably late. Way late,” Jackson said during his media availability on Wednesday. “Then, there were some things that started to show up in the offseason and we kept working through it, trying to get him back, and it just did not work that way. We moved further and then things did not work right. And this is where we are today.”

Louis was the team’s leading receiver last season after hauling in 27 passes for 357 yards. Louis was a fourth-round selection by the Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft. During his collegiate career, he registered a total of 98 catches for 1,338 yards and eight touchdowns receiving.
