On Sunday, the Auburn basketball coach made an appearance at NASCAR’s Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

“This is a monster, monster event,” Pearl said. “Kind of makes me proud to be an America, right? … It’s an honor to be here. Looking forward to starting the race and hearing that thunder.”
Next month, Pearl will start his 9th season in charge of the Auburn basketball program. He has compiled a 166-97 mark on the Plains, including a berth in the Final Four in 2019.
The Tigers open their 2022-23 season on Monday, Nov. 7, at home against George Mason.
