The Auburn Tigers made a historic run to the Final Four in 2019. In 2020, the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. In 2021, the Tigers were serving a self-imposed 1-year postseason ban.

But, entering the 2021-22 campaign, coach Bruce Pearl is high on his team’s chances to make some noise.

Per college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Pearl said he thinks this team has Final Four talent, while also adding that the SEC is so deep that the Tigers could finish anywhere between first and ninth:

Obviously, if the Tigers do finish ninth in the SEC, they’ll be in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament altogether, let alone making a deep run.

But, this Auburn squad has plenty of talent, so it’s possible a top 3 finish could be coming for Pearl’s team this season.
