While the Auburn Tigers haven’t gotten to see 5-star freshman PG Sharife Cooper on the court this season as he awaits an eligibility ruling from the NCAA, another freshman has stepped into the spotlight.
That freshman would be Justin Powell, who has been great at times for Bruce Pearl’s squad this season. But, recently, he’s been dealing with a concussion.
On Saturday morning, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reported that Powell would be out for the day’s game against rival Alabama:
Auburn’s Justin Powell (concussion) won’t play today against Alabama, Bruce Pearl told @Stadium. Freshman guard is averaging 11.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

Powell has served as Auburn’s de facto point guard in Cooper’s absence, and he’s played well, averaging 11.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Will he be able to return to the court soon? Auburn will certainly miss him on Saturday against Alabama.
