Auburn had an ugly exit from the 2018 NCAA Tournament last weekend, losing to Clemson by a whopping margin of 84-53 in the second round of the event. While the SEC’s Tigers and their fans were reeling from the loss, one former Tiger was apparently enjoying the lopsided loss.

Bruce Pearl’s predecessor Tony Barbee, now an assistant at Kentucky, issued this tweet during Auburn’s emphatic loss to Clemson on Sunday evening.

Considering Barbee’s horrendous record as Auburn’s coach, he went 49-75 in four seasons and claims the worst losing percentage in school history (.395) for a coach that stayed on staff longer than two seasons, it was an odd dig, to say the least.

Tuesday, during an appearance on Clay Travis’ FOX Sports Outkick radio show, Pearl issued a response to Barbee’s tweet:

Pearl has a good point, he just accomplished two things Barbee could only dream of achieving as a head coach.
