Zenitz notes that Wilson was defensive backs coach at Akron last season. Akron underwent a coaching change. New Akron head coach Joe Moorhead hired new cornerbacks and safeties coaches for his 2022 coaching staff. Wilson had accepted the defensive backs/defensive passing game coordinator position at Western Illinois this offseason, per his Twitter bio.
Wilson spent 2 seasons on Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee staff as a defensive quality control assistant. He also worked under Pruitt at Florida State.
