Auburn kicker Anders Carlson was only called upon for 3 field goal attempts in the first 3 games of the 2022 season, making all of them.

Thus far, in the first 2 SEC games of the season, he has had 4 field goal attempts but has missed on 2 of those. That doesn’t count 2 misses in the Missouri game that saw Mizzou called for being offside, leading to re-dos.

That was a topic that came up during Bryan Harsin’s Monday press conference, where, according to AL.com, the possibility of true freshman Alex McPherson getting a shot.

“We have faith in Anders…He’s been very good in practice. Anders is a very consistent guy, and we still believe in him,” Harsin said. “We’ve missed a couple of kicks, that’s very apparent. We need to make those, and that’s not anything that we don’t talk about in this room.”

We’ll see how Carlson fares in the Tigers’ next game, against Georgia at Sanford Stadium. If he continues to be off target, that could lead to a larger discussion.
