Bryan Harsin reportedly met with Auburn players after learning of his firing

Bryan Harsin saw his brief tenure with Auburn come to an end on Monday. The Tigers head coach was fired days after a loss to Arkansas dropped them to 3-5 on the season. Harsin’s record at Auburn was 9-12, with a 4-9 mark in the SEC.
New Auburn athletic director John Cohen is now immediately tasked with finding a head coach that can get the program back to relevancy in the SEC West. The decision was ultimately made by Auburn’s president, Chris Roberts, hours before Cohen’s hiring on the Plains after leaving the same role at Mississippi State was made official.
Harsin, for his part, at least had the opportunity to say goodbye to his players following the news of this dismissal, according to ESPN’s Chris Low:

All eyes are now on Auburn to see what direction Cohen takes after Harsin’s failed tenure. The resources are there for the university to swing for the fences, with Lane Kiffin and Hugh Freeze among the names being initially mentioned to take the reins.
