During Auburn’s 60-10 victory over Akron Saturday, there were three noticeable faces missing from the Auburn sideline.
Cornerback Jaylin Simpson, who left Akron game due to injury, nickelback Ladarius Tennison, and receiver Tar’Varish Dawson Jr.
Tennison and Dawson didn’t play because of disciplinary reasons. Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin, talked about the status of each player during his Monday press conference.
“Hopefully they’re (Tennison and Dawson) be back this week,” Harsin told reporters, per AL.com’s Tom Green. “Both those guys have worked hard.”
As for Simpson, Harsin is hopeful he will return for the game against Alabama State, but as of now, his status is still up in the air.
“He had an opportunity to come back in there,” Harsin said. “So, I don’t know exactly where he’s at. Hopefully, we can get him back this week. Nothing that I’m aware of that’s season-ending, and hopefully the rest yesterday and today, and then the opportunity to get out there tomorrow and practice — hopefully we can get him out there tomorrow and get him going… He’s definitely a guy that we need to have on the field.”
Auburn kicks off against Alabama State at 11 a.m. Saturday.
