Bryan Harsin is trying to get Auburn center Nick Brahms back to start the season, but his availability remains up in the air.
Brahms, a sixth-year senior who chose to return for an additional season, has missed time with an undisclosed injury during fall camp.
“Right now, we got to find out where he’s at, because there’s still some things he’s working through at this point…. We’ll see what that looks like moving forward (with his career),” Harsin said on his radio show on Thursday, per Tom Green of AL.com.
Brahms missed the Birmingham Bowl last season because of knee surgery, and he was limited during spring practices. He was expected to be the starting center this season.
Brahms is a former 4-star prospect who has appeared in 40 games after he redshirted as a true freshman. He has 33 career starts at center, including 28 consecutive starts between the second half of the 2019 season and up through last season’s Iron Bowl.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
