Charges against Bryce Thompson dropped following preseason incident on campus
Following a preseason media firestorm, at the end of the day, all charges against Bryce Thompson have been dropped in a Knox County courtroom on Monday.
This news was first reported by WATE Channel 6 in Knoxville.
Thompson was involved in a domestic dispute with a woman on campus on August 24 that led to verbal threats and a gate being damaged. Jeremy Pruitt suspended the sophomore defensive back from the football team for three weeks following the incident while many outsiders called for Thompson to be booted from the program.
Now, less than a month after the allegations against Thompson, the charges have been dropped and the defensive back has been back with the team for nearly two weeks.
Thompson was named an FWAA Freshman All-American last season after starting in 10 games and appearing in 12 games for the Vols. During his true freshman season, Thompson led the Vols in interceptions and pass breakups.
