Bryce Young is widely expected to be in heavy contention to come off the board as the first quarterback selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, Young’s game is not without some holes in the pre-draft process.

One of the things that will be picked apart and addressed during the NFL Combine and pre-draft workouts is Young’s size and stature. But, despite being a bit undersized, ESPN’s Mike Tannenbaum is not worried one bit about Young’s prospects as an NFL QB.

“He’s small, and I think he’s going to be an exception,” said Tannenbaum in reference to Young outperforming his measurables. “I think Todd McShay used this analogy first which is I think he’s got Steph Curry in him. I think he has really good short area of movement, I think he has really good flexibility. I think he’s going to be a great passer, not a good passer, and over the next 3-5 years, I think Bryce Young is going to be the better NFL QB than Justin Fields.”

While Young has been the first QB taken in a number of mock drafts, the latest debate has been whether or not the Chicago Bears should take Young and deal Justin Fields in a trade to reset the position for the franchise. We’ll see where Chicago goes, but Young stands to be a hot commodity at the top of the draft.
