Despite 3 touchdowns on the day — the latest one to Cameron Latu to put his team up 24-7 early in the 4th quarter — Alabama quarterback Bryce Young hasn’t rolled up massive yardage numbers. That’s because the Crimson Tide have dominated the line of scrimmage behind an incredible performance by running Brian Robinson Jr.

Still, Young had an opportunity to make program history on Friday. And he did just that on his completed touchdown pass to Cameron Latu. That gave the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner 4,503 passing yards on the afternoon, the most in a season by an Alabama quarterback since his predecessor, Mac Jones, totaled exactly 4,500 a season ago.

Young’s stat line after his pass to Latu was 17-of-27 for 180 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. More importantly, he and the Tide are in strong position to advance to yet another national championship game in hopes of claiming a 2nd straight title.
