Bryce Young celebrated his 21st birthday this week, and was not spared the traditional treatment Alabama players receive on that milestone birthday.
Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and one of the top players in college football this season, was seen being carried by teammates into the cold tub at the Alabama facility. It was captured and uploaded to social media by safety Malachi Moore, who wrote, “thought he was safe.”
Young not only won the Heisman last season, but also set the Alabama single-season marks for passing yards (4,872) and touchdowns (47), and was selected as one of the Crimson Tide’s permanent team captains for the 2021 campaign.
It says something that Young’s teammates kept up the tradition even for the star quarterback.

Young’s latest award came last week when he won an ESPY for best college athlete, men’s sports. Young led the Crimson Tide to the national championship game, and also received The Sporting News and Associated Press player of the year for the 2021 season. The other awards he won include the Maxwell, Davey O’Brien and Manning awards. Of course, he was also a consensus first-team All-American.
