Nick Saban said that Young would be evaluated in warmups, leading to the final call on whether the Heisman Trophy winner gets the start or Alabama goes with backup QB Jalen Milroe again.
Friday evening, Saban told ESPN’s Chris Low that Young is feeling better and has dealt with less soreness in his shoulder this week. The Alabama head coach added that Young did not throw on Thursday to make sure he’s fully rested for Saturday’s game.
Young left Alabama’s win over Arkansas in the first half after spraining his shoulder. Milroe got the start in UA’s 24-20 win over Texas A&M in Week 6.
