Former Miami WR coach Kevin Beard is joining the Georgia support staff, according to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Seth Emerson.

Emerson cites multiple reports that Kirby Smart is adding Beard to his staff after new Miami coach (and former Georgia coach) Mark Richt decided to not retain the assistant.

Beard’s exact role with the Bulldogs is not yet known.

The former Hurricanes coach also played football at Miami and was a key member of the 2001 team that won the national championship.

James Coley, who was the offensive coordinator at Miami last season, was recently hired by Kirby Smart as the Bulldogs WR coach.

Beard worked under Coley with the Hurricanes.
