A charter bus carrying members of a South Carolina JUCO football team struck an overpass bridge on the Shelby bypass on Highway 74 Saturday afternoon, which left four dead and 42 others injured, the North Carolina Highway Patrol told WSOCTV.

The injured victims were taken to area hospitals and two were transported to CMC. The bus was carrying members of the Ramah Juco Academy in Rock Hill en route to Fayetteville.

There are currently no updates on the status of the driver or ages of the victims involved in the accident, according to WSOCTV. State troopers told the news station that one of the bus’ front tires blew, which caused it to travel off to the side of the road.

The scene of the accident is still active with the Highway Patrol and local authorities are still investigating.
