One Tennessee player that was unable to make it through the Virginia Tech unscathed was junior defensive back Evan Berry. By game’s end, the All-American kick returner was seen in street clothes on the sidelines.

During his Monday press conference, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones was asked about Berry’s status and acknowledged an injury did in fact occur during the Battle at Bristol.

“Evan Berry was a hamstring, we’ll know a little bit more about where he’s at today,” Jones said.

Jones indicated Berry would be ‘fine’ and will be further evaluated during Monday’s practice. Don’t be surprised to see the Vols’ outstanding kick returner listed as questionable heading into Saturday’s Ohio game.

While the Vols shouldn’t need his kick returning skills to beat Ohio, having Berry as close to full health could be the difference in getting the win in two weeks against Florida.
