No matter how many times you ask Butch Jones, his answer will be the same: Tennessee won’t be scoreboard-watching Florida’s clash with LSU on Saturday.

The Volunteers need the Gators to lose to have a shot at winning the SEC East, but that won’t matter if they don’t take care of business against Missouri. Reporters twice asked Jones during the SEC coaches teleconference about keeping an eye on Florida this weekend.

“I haven’t even thought about it,” Jones said when asked if he’d be sending positive thoughts to Baton Rouge. “We are focused on Mizzou, working toward being 1-0 this week.”

Toward the end of his session on the teleconference, a reporter asked if the Neyland Stadium public address announcer would update the score of the Gators’ game.

“I haven’t even thought about it,” Jones repeated. “Missouri on film will take all of our effort and concentration. I realize that sounds like coach speak. … But all I know is we have to play winning football on Saturday.”

Tennessee might have to do so without the services of a key player. Jones classified senior center Dylan Wiesman as a game-time decision.

The No. 19 Vols (7-3, 3-3) and the Tigers (3-7, 1-5) will square off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Knoxville.
