The No. 13 BYU Cougars were in danger of getting their 1st loss of the season on Saturday night. The Cougars welcomed in the Oklahoma State Cowboys for a conference matchup and were trailing at the half.
In the third quarter, the Cougars scored all of the points, retaking the lead after scoring 14 points. However, the Cowboys went back ahead with just under a minute to play, meaning the Cougars needed a miracle.
With 17 seconds to play, Jake Retzlaff found Darius Lassiter. The receiver made the first defender miss and then juked out a second defender to get in the end zone and score a 35-yard TD. The score put the Cougars up by 3 with just 10 seconds left, and 38-35 would be the final score.

Retzlaff ended the night with 218 passing yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs. LJ Martin had a big night on the ground, taking 20 carries for 120 yards and 2 scores. Lassiter caught 6 passes for 129 yards, including the game-winning score.
On defense, the Cougars held the Cowboys to 152 passing yards and forced 2 INTs.
The improbable win moves the Cougars to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in Big 12 play. The team just keeps finding ways to win and might just end up becoming the favorite to win the conference. The Cowboys, meanwhile, continue to disappoint. The team falls to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in Big 12 play. The Cougars now have wins over SMU, Kansas State, Baylor, Arizona, and Oklahoma State, among others.
The next test for the Cougars will be at UCF in Week 9.
