Bad news for the 4th-ranked LSU Tigers, as leading rusher Caden Durham is out of Saturday’s critical game at No. 13 Ole Miss (3:30 pm, ABC) with an ankle injury. Durham’s status has been closely monitored throughout the week. On the final availability report released before kickoff, Durham was listed as out for the game.
Durham injured his ankle last Saturday during a rout of SE Louisiana and was considered questionable earlier in the week on the official availability report. Before his Week 4 exit, he had amassed 7 carries for 17 yards against the Lions and had caught 3 passes for 7 yards.
Durham has rushed for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, backing up a freshman campaign that saw him pile up 753 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on 140 carries. He has also been a weapon out of the backfield for the 4-0 Tigers, catching 8 passes for 39 yards this season. Durham hauled in 28 passes for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2024.
ESPN’s FPI is only giving LSU a 26.7% chance to prevail at Ole Miss. Like LSU, the Rebels are 4-0 and are 2-0 in the SEC heading into the Week 5 showdown.
Saturday’s showdown is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
