NFL teams received a letter Wednesday regarding the health of former Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks. The letter, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, stated that Banks will be fully cleared for football activities by June, a few months before the start of the 2026 NFL season.
Caleb Banks fractured a bone in his left foot during the NFL scouting combine, which required surgery to repair the foot. Projected by many as a high first-round pick before the injury, Banks is now projected as a late first-round or second-round draft pick.
Of course, we won’t know for sure until he hears his name called across the next few days. The NFL Draft is set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET from Pittsburgh tomorrow night.
Unfortunately for Banks, March’s left foot injury is far from the only ailment he’s had while playing football. He was limited during the 2025 season with a foot injury and only appeared in 3 games for the Gators last year as a result.
Banks is an imposing player when healthy. Standing at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, Banks is a monster against the run and totaled 48 tackles with 6.5 sacks and a pair of batted balls during his four limited years in college football.
