Caleb Bryant, DL out of Mississippi, announces SEC commitment

Caleb Bryant has made the call and the 3-star defensive lineman is staying in the state of Mississippi. The Vicksburg native announced on social media that he’s committing to Mississippi State.
Bryant was previous committed to Utah before he re-opened his recruitment in August. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Bryant is regarded by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 7 player from Mississippi, as well as the nation’s 53rd best defensive lineman. Overall, Bryant is ranked as the nation’s No. 473 prospect.

Bryant’s initial top 8 in November featured Mississippi State, Oregon, USC, Jackson State, Nebraska, Miami, Missouri and Alcorn State. Bryant also received an offer from Georgia Tech on Dec. 12 and followed up with a visit to its campus on Dec. 16.
During his senior season, Bryant tallied 72 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 8 sacks and a pass breakup. Bryant helped Vicksburg earn a 10-3 record and qualify for the MHSAA Class 5A semifinals. As a junior, Bryant amassed 78 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.
