Caleb Williams is reportedly declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Williams has settled on the decision after two seasons at USC. After a Heisman Trophy season in 2022, the Trojans struggled to a 7-5 regular season in 2023.
Williams’ ultimate decision was always expected, especially after the quarterback opted out of the Holiday Bowl against Louisville. His reported decision comes on the final day for underclassmen to declare for the NFL Draft.

Entering the season, Williams was largely viewed as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and he did nothing to prove otherwise on the field. Thamel particularly pointed to Williams’ variety of arm angles, his work in improvised situations and his mobility with his legs as an intriguing package.
In 2 seasons at USC, Williams finished with over 8,100 yards with 72 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 524 yards and 21 touchdowns with the Trojans after seeing action in 11 games as a freshman at Oklahoma.
With Williams in the draft, it puts a spotlight on the Chicago Bears and their QB situation with Justin Fields. The Bears will have multiple options in play, and it could create a firestorm of activity at the top of the draft.
