The confidence meter of the former SEC receivers in Indianapolis was off the charts on Friday.

After Chrisitan Kirk proclaimed himself to be the best receiver in the upcoming draft earlier in the day, Calvin Ridley shared his own strong proclamation during his interview process with the assembled media.

“I feel like whoever chooses me, I’m starting on that team,” Ridley had to say. “I’m not trying to be… sound bold or anything — I want to be the humble guy, but I feel like whoever chooses me I’m coming in to start and play right away.”

For what it’s worth, NFL.com draft analyst Mike Mayock had Ridley ranked as the draft’s top receiver prospect and Kirk second entering the NFL Combine. It will be interesting to see if either prospect makes a move in Mayock’s update of his rankings following the combine.

Regardless of where anyone ranks them, however, both have the mindset of a No. 1 receiver. That fact will only help them as they transition to the game’s highest level of play.
