Auburn legend and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton teased his latest project on Instagram this past week. Newton shared pictures of an image in his likeness, but wouldn’t reveal what it was.
It turns out he’s getting into the food truck business.
During an interview with WCCB-TV anchor Morgan Fogarty, Newton revealed that he will open his own food truck called “Smokin’ Aces,” which is a play on his nickname “Ace Boogie.” The truck features an image of the reigning NFL MVP doing his iconic “Superman” pose on the side, which was painted by California artist Mark Paul Deren.
Newton, who is a pescatarian, will include fish on his menu, as well as chicken. The truck will make its debut during the Panthers’ home opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 18. It will be parked in the Goodyear Arts lot by the Duke Energy Building, which is where it was painted.
Newton said the truck will be at the location on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with all of the proceeds its first week going towards a program for local at-risk individuals. He also said that we will be outside the truck eating among the customers.
