Cam Robinson’s position coach evaluates former Alabama OL’s NFL debut

Former Alabama OL Cam Robinson got his first taste of NFL action on Thursday night in Jacksonville’s preseason game against the New England Patriots.
Robinson’s position coach saw some positives from the former Crimson Tide lineman’s debut, but said there’s plenty of room to improve.
“Good and bad,” offensive line coach Pat Flaherty told reporters after practice Saturday. “The speed of the game isn’t even close to where it’s going to be when the season comes. He’s got to learn how to play [well] play in and play out. The one thing he’s doing is he’s coming to play. He’s aggressive.”
Robinson himself focused on the positive.
“Everything was pretty smooth,” Robinson said. “I just wanted to get out there and get a rhythm going. There is always stuff you can improve on, but I think we did a pretty good job.”
Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone thinks Robinson will benefit from the team’s joint practices with Tampa Bay on Monday and Tuesday.
“That’s one of the other things that we look at in evaluating players: How much they can learn from day-to-day, from snap-to-snap to help them become better players,” Marrone said.
