Cameron Ward, a top FCS QB, takes visit to SEC West program, per report

Cameron Ward, one of the top quarterbacks in FCS, has taken a visit to Ole Miss, according to Inside the Rebels, as the Rebels continue to look for a signal caller to replace Matt Corral.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Ward entered the transfer portal after Incarnate Word head coach Eric Morris left to take an offensive coordinator role at Washington State. Ward is an increasingly popular QB in the portal, as Ward visited Liberty on Friday. Ward has reported offers from Indiana, North Texas and Houston.
Ward won the Jerry Rice Award as the best freshman in FCS during the spring season this year at the private school in San Antonio, per ESPN. He then threw for 4,648 yards and 47 touchdowns with 10 interceptions this fall as UIW made the second round of the FCS playoffs. He owns school records for career passing TDs (71) and yards (6,908).
Ward’s father, Calvin, said when looking at potential options, the priority for his son is finding a system in which Cameron can continue to grow as a passer, per 247Sports.
“Cameron’s No. 1 thing is he wants to be in a system that throws the football,” Calvin said. “He’s experienced in high school not throwing the football.”
