Carson Beck is on the board.

The former Georgia quarterback made the move to Miami this offseason after helping the Bulldogs win the SEC 2024. After undergoing offseason elbow surgery, there were questions about how Beck would look for the Canes this fall.

So far, so good.

Beck threw the first touchdown pass of his Miami tenure with 14:03 remaining in the second quarter. Facing a third and 10, Beck found freshman Malachi Toney in the end zone to give the Canes a 7-0 lead over Notre Dame.

Here’s a clip of Beck’s big play:

Beck threw for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns last season at Georgia. Now at Miami, he’s following in the footsteps of last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Cam Ward. Beck will have to hope his final season of college football will also prop up his draft stock like it did for Ward, who ended up as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

It’s also an impressive play for Toney, who appears to be a top option for the Canes at wide receiver despite being a true freshman. Toney signed with Miami as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2025.
