Cason Wallace suffered a left ankle injury Wednesday night in Kentucky’s loss to Vanderbilt, and the guard’s status for Saturday’s game against Arkansas is unknown.
After the game, John Calipari said, “Cason, they X-rayed. He’s fine. It’s not swelled. I’m hoping he will be okay for Saturday, but I don’t know.”
Oscar Tshiebwe added, “He should be good, he should be good. I’m not supposed to give too much information.”
Wallace suffered the injury early in the second half, and did not return. He played 20 minutes and was 2-for-7 from the field for 6 points, 2 rebounds and an assist.
Wallace’s injury casts doubt on the Cats’ depth down the stretch as Calipari announced Wednesday afternoon that senior guard Sahvir Wheeler underwent a minor medical procedure would likely be out for 2-3 weeks.
Wheeler has missed 7 straight games for the Wildcats, as it was previously known that Wheeler had a right ankle injury.
