Ahead of the start of the college football season, CBS Sports analysts Brian Jones, Aaron Taylor and Rick Neuheisel made their predictions for how the College Football Playoff would turn out.
While some of their picks held up, several of their picks are far from the Playoff picture at this point.
Time to look back on the crew's preseason CFB Playoff picks. ?

Jones had Georgia, Michigan, Texas and USC in his CFP. While Georgia and Michigan are still leading the charge for the CFP, USC’s chances are all but over with 2 losses, and Texas would need a lot to happen for it to find a way into the CFP.
Taylor also went with Georgia and Michigan as the top 2 seeds, but his 3 and 4 picks are rough. He had LSU at the No. 3 seed, and with 2 losses on the schedule already, the Tigers are far from reaching the CFP. But Taylor’s No. 4 seed might be the worst pick as he had Clemson reaching the Playoff. It’s safe to say Clemson is going to miss the CFP this season.
Neuheisel had the same Playoff bracket as Jones, and his biggest regret is having the Trojans making the CFP. After a successful season last year for USC and Caleb Williams returning, it seemed like a CFP appearance was realistic, but the Trojans haven’t found their footing this year.
