The race for the national title is down to just 4.
Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama will battle for the crown starting in just under a month at the Rose and Sugar bowls, this season’s CFP semifinals. Michigan will face Alabama first while Texas and Washington will face off in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl.
The Inside College Football crew at CBS all 4 made their picks for the 2023 national champion. None of the 4 are rolling with the current No. 1, Michigan. 2 votes go to Texas, while Aaron Taylor picked Alabama and Rick Neuheisel picked Washington.
Check out their reasons as to why below:

For all the controversy it’s given, this CFP has a little bit in store for everyone this year. Both matchups lack a heavy favorite and there are some new faces in the mix compared to last year, with Texas cracking the field for the first time in school history and Washington doing so for the first time since 2016-17.
The CFP semifinals take place on Jan. 1, 2024.
