The SEC figures to be extremely competitive once again this season. The top 5 of the initial AP poll has 3 SEC teams: No. 1 Georgia, No. 4 Alabama, and No. 5 LSU.

With so much parity in the conference, it’ll be fascinating to see how the action unfolds. For example, the analysts at CBS Sports have split opinions on who’ll win the SEC title.

Brian Jones and AJ Ross are siding with LSU, while Danny Kanell and Aaron Taylor are taking back-to-back national champion Georgia.

Georgia is coming off an undefeated season capped off with a massive 65-7 blowout victory vs. TCU in the national title game. The Bulldogs are aiming to become the first program to 3-peat in the AP poll.

LSU posted a 10-4 record and throttled Purdue 63-7 in the Citrus Bowl in Brian Kelly’s first season at the helm. Dynamic LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is garnering national praise after amassing 28 touchdowns (17 passing, 11 rushing) last season.

If Georgia and LSU meet in the conference title game, it’ll be a rematch of last season when the Bulldogs beat the Tigers 50-30. LSU is 3-2 all-time vs. Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, with its most recent win in 2019.
